VH1 Save The Music Foundation helps preserve music education
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring that music instruction is a core component to a complete education, giving children the tools and confidence to excel in academics and in life. The organization has provided 2.3 million children in 1,900 public schools in America with more than $51 million in new musical instruments donated since 1997.
Each year, through strategic partnerships with school districts, the Foundation provides $30,000 worth of brand-new musical instruments to public elementary and middle schools, jump-starting dormant music programs across the country.
The 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring music programs in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
The benefits of music education are astounding, and studies have consistently exposed the tremendously positive effect music education has on a child’s academic performance, sense of community, self-expression and self-esteem.
But as schools across the nation increasingly face budget cuts and pressures, music is often one of the first subject areas to be cut.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation develops strategic partnerships with school districts to build sustainable instrumental music programs by providing grants of brand-new musical instruments to public elementary and middle schools.
Their goal? To give every child in this country access to a musical instrument. Watch the video below to find out how you can help Save The Music!
